Artist Info/ BIO
Celph Titled a/k/a "The Rubix Cuban", one of the first Tampa artists to make worldwide noise in the underground hip hop circuit, began his career coming into the golden era ('95-'98) of the indie 12" explosion with his first two records released in 1998 on his Atomik label imprint as lead member of the group Equilibrium ("Fahrenheit 813") as well as the Walkmen group project ("Fortruss"). He is one of the hardest MCs in the game and his razor sharp skills as a producer are widely recognized, originating in 1992 with basement-style demo tapes. Celph moved to NYC in 1999 and escalated his status in the game by working with the likes of Ice-T, Kool G. Rap, Planet Asia, Kurious, Styles of Beyond, as well as R&B group Soul For Real - in addition to producing or appearing on over 80 records to date. He is an active member of two underground super groups --- the Demigodz (which includes Atlantic Records signee Apathy, Rise, Esoteric, El-Fudge, Open Mic, Spin 4th & One-Two) and the Army of the Pharaohs (Jedi Mind Tricks, 7L & Esoteric, Outerspace, King Syze, Chief Kamachi & Apathy). He has toured stateside & worldwide, including Sweden & Iceland. In 2004, after 5 years of NYC residency, he has returned home to the city of Tampa which he has always proudly represented in his music and will continue to make contributions to the rap game, including his forthcoming solo EP on Atomik Music.
